Not much I can add to Donald Shank’s excellent report. Zero blowdown, trails are perfect! I recommend the lower Elliot Trail, Elliot Creek has some beautiful white water running. Stayed overnight on Sunday, myself and one other group, two tents total on what can be a busy campground. Avoid the weekend if you can! Bugs were out but pretty minimal, nothing to worry about yet. What’s really nice about this hike is that it’s approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours to the lake, enabling you to get a late start and still make it well before sundown. Enjoy the hike!
